Focus Areas Self-confidence

Where the inner critic comes from, why affirmations rarely stick, and how confidence is built from small completed things rather than decided in advance.

What is self-confidence?

Confidence is less a feeling you summon than a conclusion you have earned. It follows evidence — small things attempted, finished and survived — which is why deciding to feel differently about yourself so rarely works on its own.

The critical voice that argues against the evidence is usually borrowed from somewhere. Recognising whose it is does not silence it, but it does change how much authority it gets, and that is the part you can practise.
